Award for Fretson Green
On July 29th 2010 it was announced that Fretson Green, a park owned by Manor and Castle Development 
Trust and managed on their behalf by Green Estate, had won the prestigious Green Pennant Award. Members of the parks maintenance crew, Brian Hemingway, Andrea Marsden and Dean Barrat, attended a ceremony where Cllr Shaffaq Mohamed and Mary Bagley, Director of Parks, presented them with the flag. Of the 16 parks in Sheffield to achieve such an award, Fretson Green was one of only two that are not managed directly by Sheffield Parks Department.
As well as Fretson Green, the parks crew manage three other parks, including Manor Fields, Windy House Lane and The Wedge. All are to be found in the Manor area of Sheffield.
