About the Discovery Centre

The Sheffield Manor Lodge Discovery Centre is a brand new, purpose built education and visitor centre.

Features include:

  • Exhibits which give an introduction to Sheffield Manor Lodge and it's rich and turbulent past
  • A super cafe serving drinks, ice-creams, cake and snacks, with tables on the terrace overlooking the site
  • Interactive computer display for you to explore some of the historical artefacts, people and activity associated with the site
  • An information and reception point staffed by volunteers to welcome and assist visitors
  • a community archive room equipped with a small resource library of books and texts related to the site
  • the Centre can also be hired for meetings and activities 

The Discovery Centre is usually open for visitors from Monday-Friday 10am -3pm subject to closure for private functions and schools activities.

The centre and the whole of the a Scheduled Ancient Monument site, including the recently renovated Turret House will be open every Sunday from April until September 26th.

Each Sunday there will be site guided tours of the site at 12.30 and 2.30 - £1.50 adults, 50p children,
